This policy explains what PixSense accesses, why the app needs it, where it is processed, and the controls available to you.
Overview
PixSense is designed as a private, offline photo and video cleanup app. It helps you review, organize, favorite, trash, and delete photos and videos stored on your own device.
This Privacy Policy explains what data PixSense accesses, how that data is used, and how you can control it.
Data PixSense accesses on your device
PixSense may access the following local data after you grant Android permission:
- Photos and videos in your device gallery
- Media names, file sizes, file types, dates, resolution, album or folder names, and MediaStore identifiers
- Local cleanup actions such as keep, favorite, trash, restore, and delete
- Local app settings such as dark mode, notifications, onboarding state, reviewed count, and cleanup progress
- Local scan metadata used to detect screenshots, large videos, exact duplicates, similar photos, and document-like images
PixSense uses this information only to provide its gallery cleanup features on your device.
Photos and videos
PixSense needs photo and video access so it can show your gallery, create cleanup categories, open previews, detect screenshots, find large videos, detect exact duplicates, suggest similar photos, and let you review items before deletion.
On supported Android versions, you may choose full gallery access or selected-photo access. If you choose selected access, PixSense can only scan and show the photos and videos you selected.
Offline processing
PixSense is built to work offline. The current release does not request the Android INTERNET permission. Photos, videos, filenames, gallery metadata, cleanup history, duplicate hashes, similar-photo hints, favorites, and trash status are processed locally on your device.
Data collection and sharing
In the current release, PixSense does not collect, sell, rent, upload, or share your personal data, photos, videos, filenames, or gallery metadata with the developer or third parties.
PixSense does not currently include accounts, cloud sync, ads, analytics, crash reporting, subscriptions, online payments, or remote image processing.
Notifications
PixSense may ask for notification permission to show optional local cleanup reminders or local alerts when new media is found. Notification settings can be changed in the app or in Android Settings. Notifications are local app alerts and are not used to send data to a server.
Local storage and retention
PixSense stores local app data on your device using app storage, local preferences, and a local database. This may include media IDs, file names, media metadata, favorite status, trash status, review status, cleanup history, duplicate hashes, and similar-photo hints.
This local data remains on your device until you clear PixSense app storage, uninstall PixSense, or the app removes stale records during local scanning.
Deleting data
You can delete PixSense app data by clearing the app storage in Android Settings or uninstalling the app.
Deleting a photo or video from your device gallery is a separate device-side action controlled by Android system permission dialogs and your confirmation. PixSense cannot recover files after Android permanently deletes them.
Backups
PixSense disables cloud backup for its local app database and local preferences in the current release, so PixSense cleanup records are not intentionally backed up by the app.
Security
PixSense limits access to media data to the features needed for local gallery cleanup. The app does not request internet access in the current release, and Android permission controls are used for photo and video access.
Children
PixSense is a general audience utility app and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
If PixSense adds online features, accounts, analytics, ads, crash reporting, payments, cloud sync, feedback forms, or remote processing in the future, this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data Safety form must be updated before release.
